Back to Top PT Student to Attend Federal Advocacy ForumAvery Schroyer, DPT class of 2014, was selected to receive funding to attend the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Federal Advocacy Forum. The Federal Advocacy Forum is an APTA-sponsored event that allows for therapists, assistants and students to come together in Washington, DC to meet with their legislators. The event provides an opportunity for participants to lobby Congress on the challenges facing the physical therapy profession and to improve upon advocacy skills. Avery is the second UK student in a row to be selected to represent Kentucky at the event. The dates are April 14-16. Back to Top Undergraduate Researchers to Present at National Conference

Congratulations to CHS undergraduate researchers Maria Ritter (Biology, pre-Physical Therapy) and Elizabeth Bauer (Biology, pre-med)! Maria and Elizabeth are working under then mentorship of Dr. Scott Livingston and will be presenting at the upcoming National Conference on Undergraduate Research being held April 11-13 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Their submission, “Establishment of Normative Data for Motor Evoked Potentials among Healthy Young Adults” was selected from over 3500 submissions!

Presentations will be discussed at the March College Meeting. Charles T. Marshall Receives Kingston Award Dr. Charles T. Marshall has been selected as the recipient of the 2013 College of Health Sciences Kingston Award for Excellence in teaching. Dr. Marshall is Associate Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy and teaches at the Center for Excellence in Rural Health in Hazard and has served the college since 2009. The Kingston Award is the highest award for excellence in teaching given by the College and it is a testament to Dr. Marshall's excellence as an educator in and out of the classroom that he is given it.
