Back to Top Travis Thomas Elected Secretary of SCANDr. Travis Thomas has been elected Secretary to the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness (SCAN) practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This is a two year term starting June 1, 2013. SCAN is the largest dietetic practice group of
the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Members are registered dietitians
with nutrition expertise in the areas of sports, physical activity,
cardiovascular health, wellness, and the prevention and treatment of
disordered eating and eating disorders. Learn more about SCAN at

Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 21st at Baptist Health (formerly Central
Baptist Hospital) Education Center. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the

preparing their 2013-2014 Distribution of Effort Forms. All faculty should have
received an email with the DOE Memo outlining the timeline (PDF) and
Instructions for the DOE Calculation Worksheet (PDF). New faculty members should
download a blank DOE Calculation Worksheet from the link below. Returning
faculty members should use the final copy of the work sheet provided to your
division directors last year and make corrections/updates as necessary. The forms will also be located on the
Academic

Marshall Receives Kingston Award Dr. Charles T. Marshall has been selected as the recipient of the 2013 College of Health Sciences Kingston Award for Excellence in teaching. Dr. Marshall is Associate Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy and teaches at the Center for Excellence in Rural Health in Hazard and has served the college since 2009. The Kingston Award is the highest award for excellence in teaching given by the College and it is a testament to Dr. Marshall's excellence as an educator in and out of the classroom that he is given it.
