The Fourth Annual Conference on Meeting the Therapy Needs of Infants, Toddlers
and Children with Disabilities in Rural Communities will be held on Saturday,
March 9 at CHS. This conference focuses on serving the needs of rural
occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists
who desire increased competency in the provision of evidence-based practice
service delivery and increased understanding of diversity issues for infants,
toddlers and children with disabilities in early intervention or school-based
settings. The major focus of this conference is on the
intersection of Policy, Advocacy, and the Best Practice of Related Services
Personnel. A summary and the specific objectives for each session are
provided in the conference schedule.
Do you keep re-spraining your ankles? Researchers in the CHS Musculoskeletal Lab are looking for volunteers who have weak ankles from past ankle sprains to participate in a clinical research study. Back to Top DPT Candidates to Present at National PT ConferenceSeveral DPT candidates, mentored by Dr. Brian Noehren, will present results of their research at the annual combined sections meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association. Their now published research was accomplished while they were still students, which is no small feat! The meeting is the largest of physical therapists in the U.S., with over 10,000 participants. The meeting will be held in San Diego. Their research focused on how trained distance runners potentially run differently than beginners. The research produced three clinical tests that were validated and will be of utility to their profession. Congratulations to Katelyn Ackerman, Katie Grim, Kristen Meister, Lauren Nicholson and Kelsey Pence. Several CHS PT faculty will be attending and presenting at the conference.
