for these donations will be February 2! CHS Undergrad Presented Poster at CapitolAman Shah, an undergraduate student working under
the direction of Dr. Esther E. Dupont-Versteegden, was one of 15
undergraduate researchers selected to present at the 2012
Posters-at-the-Capitol event, January 26, at the Capitol in Frankfort. The
title of Aman's poster was: "P-bodies are Elevated with Age-, but Not
Disuse-associated Skeletal Muscle Atrophy." Congratulations! Dr. Rita Patel Awarded Best PaperDr. Rita Patel received the award for Best Scientific Paper at the 2012 Annual Pacific Voice Conference. See following for full citation. Congratulations Dr. Patel! Best Scientific Paper Award, The 2012

conjointly with the International Society for Optics and Photonics (BiOS-SPIE),
Photonics West. Title: 'Analysis of high speed digital
phonoscopy: Pediatric Images' Authors: Harikrishnan Unnikrishnan, MS; Kevin Donohue,
PhD; Rita Patel, PhD. This research is in collaboration with the Center for
Visualization and Virtual Environments at UK. Harikrishnan is a doctoral
student in the College of Engineering and a research assistant in the Vocal
Physiology and Imaging Laboratory. Dr. Donohue is a professor in the College
of Engineering and Dr. Patel is a member of our faculty in the Division of
Communication Sciences and Disorders. AED & CPR Classes - Open to Faculty & StaffDo you want to be prepared in a medical emergency? Has your CPR/AED certification run out? Well, you are in luck! The College of Health Sciences is offering CPR and AED training on the following dates & times: Monday, February 27 at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 28 at 8:00 a.m., and Friday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m.. All three trainings will be held in the Commons room. This training is being taught by Marcy Thobaben of Bluegrass Health & Safety. Each training session is approximately 3 hours long.
