Alumni Awards
The University of Kentucky Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Service and Joseph T. Burch Young Alumni Awards. Deadline for receiving nominations is Nov. 1, 2011.
The Distinguished Service Awards are a long-standing tradition
presented annually to honor and recognize alumni and friends of the
university who have provided extraordinary dedication and service to UK and
the alumni association.
The Joseph T. Burch Young Alumni Award is named in honor of a longtime UK administrator who spent the better part of his life in service to UK students. The award began in 2002 as a way to recognize alumni who are 10 years or less out of college and currently work on behalf of young people through the university, the association, their alumni club or the local community.
Recipients of both awards are honored each year during the UK Alumni Association Board of Directors Summer Workshop.
Do you know someone who deserves recognition? Please use this form to nominate a UK alum or friend of the university for this honor. In doing so you will play a part in helping to recognize individuals who have provided extraordinary service and shown tremendous dedication to the UK Alumni Association and the University of Kentucky. All forms must be filled out completely and submitted online or returned to 400 Rose Street, King Alumni House, Lexington, KY 40506-0119, no later than Nov. 1, 2011.

Message from Thomson-Hood Activities Director: “Thank you so much for
volunteering to come for our Halloween Carnival. If you all could come from 1:00
- 4:00 p.m. that would be great. At 1:00 p.m. we will decorate for the Carnival
and Costume contest. At 1:30 p.m. We will have a costume contest. At 2pm we will
get the game booths ready and start rounding the residents. Each resident will
go to a game booth and then to the PT gym for refreshments. It will be wonderful
if your group can help transport residents to the Carnival, assist them as they
go to each game booth and into the PT gym for refreshments. After they have
finished their refreshments then it would be great for you and your group to
take that resident back to his/her unit. I am sure we will also need help with
working some of the game booths too. If you do not mind please let me know how
many will be coming on Oct. 21st and I will set up a work schedule.”
