CHS Research AwardThe Research Advisory Committee (RAC) met on Feb. 2 to vote for the CHS Research Award recipient from the nominees provided. Although a single award is typically given each year in one of the two categories (Distinguished Research Award and Young Investigator Award), two candidates are so exceptional, the RAC voted to give two research awards. Congratulations to Pat Kitzman, Ph.D., recipient of the Distinguished Research Award and also Rita Patel, Ph.D., recipient of the Young Investigator Award. Back to TopPhysical Therapy Career Fair is TodayThe Division of Physical Therapy will be hosting its annual PT Career Fair today, Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. – noon throughout the first two floors of the Wethington Building. This will be followed by afternoon interviews for the third year PT students. We anticipate 160 PT students will participate in the morning Fair and nearly 60 in interviews. This award was created by the UK Women's Forum in honor of Sarah Bennett Holmes, a distinguished former Dean of Women at the University of Kentucky, who championed the rights of women and inspired young women to persevere in the face of hardship and to pursue their educational and career goals. Data from the survey will help UK Libraries understand faculty and student expectations and perceptions of library service. A sample of faculty and students will receive an e-mail message (via UK e-mail) with a link to the survey. This year’s shortened version of the survey, LibQUAL Lite, will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. 4th Annual Multicultural Health Careers Open HouseSaturday, March 5, 2011 The annual Multicultural Health Careers Open House continues the University’s commitment to building diversity by targeting traditionally underrepresented minorities interested in the Health Professions. Please note, however, this event is open to ANY interested student. The Open House will give prospective students from the state of Kentucky and surrounding areas and their families the opportunity to meet and greet the Deans and select staff and students from each of the University’s Health Professions Colleges.
