Spring 2011 Kick-off & Faculty Council RetreatFriday, January 14, 2011 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. CTW 127, The Commons All faculty and staff are invited to the Spring 2011 Kick-off & Faculty Council Retreat taking place today. The day will begin with a presentation from Dr. Karin Lewis, Director of UK Academic Enhancement, on the topic of "New Audiences, New Pedagogies." The presentation will update you on the cognitive development of students in our classrooms who have grown up in the digital age and review effective instructional strategies you can use with this cohort. Come a few minutes early for a light breakfast. The morning session will be followed by a box lunch at 11:15 a.m. The monthly College meeting will be held from noon – 1:30 p.m. Note: There will be no distance hook-up for the faculty meeting – everyone is invited to come to the UK campus. Back to Top2010 W2 FormsThe University of Kentucky will print and mail 2010 W2 forms Monday, January 24, 2011 through Friday, January 28, 2011. Current University of Kentucky employees will need to log on to Employee Self Service and verify their address, W-4 and K-4 form data for accuracy. All employers in the United States are required to mail W2 forms by January 31, 2011 therefore it may take up to two weeks or longer to receive your tax form(s). The Payroll Department will begin reprinting duplicate W2s on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Back to TopBlackboard Outcomes TrainingMembers of the UK IT Blackboard team will be facilitating Blackboard Outcomes training for all program assessment liaisons, division directors and department chairs next Tuesday, January 18th, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, in room 109 of the Wethington Building. This system will be used for reporting all future student learning outcomes assessment data to the UK Office of Assessment. The new system was used to generate the faculty performance review reports (FPRR). We would like to ask for feedback from all CHS faculty about the faculty performance review report and suggestions for improvement. We are hosting two open forum discussions to gather your feedback and suggestions: Tuesday, January 25th, 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Dean's Conference Room Friday, January 28th, 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Dean's Conference Room Please RSVP to Rena at rena.murphy@uky.edu and include the forum you would like to attend.
