Monday Morning Press ConferenceUK Public Relations will be holding a press conference in the Commons on Monday morning - January 12 - from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. They will need to utilize the patient loading and unloading area in front of our building for an ambulance that will be part of the press conference. Please refrain from parking in that area during that time.

Thomson-Hood Winter Project
Staff Council would like to thank everyone for supporting the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center as the CHS winter 2008 service project. The entertainment goodies were delivered to the facility before the winter break. Two car-loads of movies, paint, woodworking material, cross-stitching patters, board games, DVD and CD players, shower totes, and more was donated. The staff and residents of the facility were thrilled and touched with the gifts. Thank you for your generosity. Above: Staff Council President Linda Allen and Thomson-Hood activities employee Pam Warth read the card the college sent to the residents of the home. The poem on the card was written by Robin Baldwin and the calligraphy was done by Kevin Dean.
PT Students "Adopt" the Wendell Foster CampusFirst-year Physical Therapy students adopted the Wendell Foster Campus in Owensboro as a winter service project. The students were led by Keisha Embry, a former WFC employee. More than $950 in presents and gift cards were collected by the students and were given to residents of the facility. The Wendell Foster Campus for Developmental Disabilities was started in 1940. The mission of the campus is to be an organization that provides individualized support, therapy and training to empower individuals with cerebral palsy, mental disabilities and other development disabilities to realize their dreams and potential.
Spring Semester Kick Off!View the attached flyer for information on the upcoming College of Health Spring Semester Kick Off on January 23, 2009. Faculty will need to RSVP for the morning session and lunch. Spring Faculty MeetingsSpring Faculty Meetings will be held on the FOURTH Friday of the month. Staff members are also invited to attend.
