Human Health Sciences
General
Admissions are in the Human Health Sciences program are holistic in nature. Consideration is
given to academic rigor and achievement, leadership and community involvement, health care
focus and experience, and cultural understanding and experiences. There will be an admissions
cap of 75 students for each yearly cohort. Admissions processes into the Human Health Sciences
program are described below for both current high school students as well as current UK students.
Qualified students after the application process will be invited to a 30 minute interview with
faculty and staff connected to the program. Interviews will be coordinated based upon applicants’
availability, distance to campus, etc. and can be in-person (strongly preferred if possible),
telephone, or Skype.
Admissions Timeline
Fall Semester start
Application opens: August 1 (of calendar
year prior to selected fall)
Priority deadline: January 15
Final deadline: Until cohort is filled
For whom this applies:
Rising first-year students (current high school seniors seeking fall
enrollment), transfer students, internal UK students.
Fall selection information:
- Application review begins directly after January 15
- Students are selected and interviewed beginning in mid-February
- Invitations to the program begin prior to UK’s first Merit Weekend
- Applications received after priority deadline are reviewed until cohort is filled
Spring Semester start
Application opens: August 1 (prior to spring semester)
Priority deadline: October 15
Final deadline: Before UK Fall Finals Week or until respective cohort is filled
For whom this applies:
Transfer students and internal UK students only
Spring selection information:
- Application review occurs on a rolling basis as early as August
- Applications cannot be received once fall finals week begins
