Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Studies
Kevin Schuer is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences Physician Assistant Studies (UKPAS) Program. Prior to joining the UKPAS program faculty in 2008, Kevin served as Fellow with the National Center for Patient Safety in Ann Arbor, MI. As the academic coordinator for the program, Kevin has administrative and curricular responsibilities that include course and program assessment. Kevin holds a Masters in Public Health degree from the University of Kentucky College of Public Health and is currently completing his Doctor of Public Health degree at the University of Kentucky in the area of health services management.
At the UKPAS program, Kevin currently is the primary course instructor in the program’s health policy and care delivery course as well as the clinical lab procedures course. He also has interprofessional responsibilities at the University of Kentucky where he advises and instructs students across multiple colleges within the University. Kevin's scholarly interests include healthcare quality, patient safety as well as interprofessional education and practice.
Kevin is a practicing physician assistant at the University of Kentucky’s outpatient Internal Medicine Group. He has also practiced in the areas of emergency medicine and cardiology.
