Dr. Livingston received his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia in 2007, his MS in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and his BS in Physical Therapy from the Ohio University in 1988. He came to the University of Kentucky in August 2009.

Doctoral Research Assistantship Positions Available

The Division of Physical Therapy in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Health Sciences is seeking highly motivated students interested in pursuing a PhD and providing research assistance to two PT faculty members. Applicants should have a personal interest in clinical or basic science research, biomechanics, and/or lower extremity injuries. Two doctoral research assistantship positions are available. One RA will be working directly with Brian Noehren, PT, PhD pursuing a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanics and treatment of knee and hip injuries. Specifically, we have several developing projects on running mechanics, osteoarthritis, ACL injuries and patellofemoral pain syndrome. The second RA position will be an individual who will work directly with Scott Livingston, PhD, PT, ATC, SCS whose research focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of sport-related concussion, specifically focusing on electrophysiological assessment, balance and postural stability testing, and vestibular dysfunction following concussion.
