Education
Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Audiology
from the University of Kentucky in 1977 and a Master of Science degree in
Speech Language Pathology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1979.
Educational Focus
Ellen serves as the coordinator for graduate student practicum
placements in the outpatient clinic and University of Kentucky Medical
Center. She also provides clinical supervision to graduate students in
both practicum and observation placements. In addition, Ellen
coordinates placements for pediatric resident physicians obtaining
shadowing experiences with speech language pathology. Finally, Ellen
provides guest lectures in various courses of the undergraduate and
graduate CSD program.
Clinical Focus
Ellen’s primary clinical focus is the evaluation
and treatment of speech and language disorders in patients of all ages. She
has particular interest in childhood apraxia of speech and alaryngeal speech
following total laryngectomy.
