Biography
Pangela Dawson received a B.A. in Biology from Oberlin College in 1994 and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2003. She joined the faculty in 2008 as a lecturer and shortly after began working as the senior coordinator for the clinical curriculum. Most recently, Mrs. Dawson began an intense study to obtain a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation.
Educational Focus
Mrs. Dawson coordinates the curriculum and clerkship experience during the clinical year of the Physician Assistant program. Her specific interests include Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and Psychiatric coursework. She also lectures during the didactic year primarily in Introduction to Health and Disease and the Clinical Lecturer Series Courses
Clinical Work
Mrs. Dawson is a certified physician assistant. She has gained experience in orthopedic pediatrics and chronic pain management. She also has experience assessing and treating military personnel issues specifically in general and psychiatric medicine.
Personal
Mrs. Dawson is married, has two children and enjoys international travel, reading, music and jogging.
