Andy Balbaugh, M.D., resident, Medicine/Pediatrics, has been selected as the resident of the month for May 2007.  Andy was nominated by an attending who wrote the following:  “He just completed a month on Endocrinology and provided exemplary service in the Endocrine outpatient clinics and on UK and VA hospital consults.  He followed patients closely in the hospital, retrieving data and entering orders for other services.  His chart documentation was timely and accurate.  He also conducted literature reviews on difficult cases and conducted two Division clinical conferences during the month.  Andy’s attitude towards learning resulted in his functioning at a progressively higher level during the month.  In summary, his efforts during the month included exceptional patient care and academic achievement.”
