Lucia Hardi, M.D., Internal Medicine-Primary Care, has been selected as the resident of the month for January 2007.  Dr. Hardi was nominated by several individuals at UK who noted her dedication to her patients and team members, and work ethic.  They documented an incident in which a patient needed a critical medication that had not been obtained before discharge.  The patient did not have a way to obtain the medications on a Sunday, so Dr. Hardi, on her own time, obtained the medication and drove it to the patient’s home.  Another day, when Dr. Hardi was scheduled to take an exam, she came in before the exam, pre-rounded on her patients, and wrote her notes, which she gave to a team member to have in time for rounds later that morning.  A specific quote from one of the nominations is that “She is dedicated, hard working, humble and a true team player.”
