Federal Verification Process
Federal regulations require that students selected for verification complete the process before receiving any funds from award sources.
Approximately thirty percent (30%) of all students applying for federal aid will be selected for verification either randomly or for cause. You will be notified on the Student Aid Report if you have been selected. You will then be sent a Verification Worksheet from the Financial Aid Office. Complete and return this worksheet along with a signed copy of your federal income tax return complete with attachments and all W-2’s. (Independent Verification Form)
If you are selected for verification AND awarded aid from a source that requires parental information for eligibility, such as the Health Professions Student Loan or the Perkins Student Loan, your parents must provide a signed copy of their federal income tax return complete with attachments and all W-2’s also. (Dependent Verification Form)
If the verification process results in a change of financial award, you will receive an Amended Award Notification.
