Financial Aid Award Letter Checklist

Congratulations.  You have received you 2012-2013 Financial Aid Award Letter.  On this page you will find a list of documents that go with the Financial Aid Award Letter that you just received.  Please take time to review these documents and follow the instructions provided.  The instructions will help you through the steps to complete Entrance Counseling and signing the Master Promissory Notes for the loans you have accepted on the Award Letter.

At the bottom of this page is a printable checklist of documents that will need to returned, by July 1, 2012, to Don Brown, Financial Aid Coordinator for the College of Dentistry.

The DEADLINE to complete everything, as it relates to Financial Aid, is July 1, 2012.  This will ensure your financial aid is ready for disbursement the first week of August, when classes begin.

If you were awarded a Perkins Loan you need to review the Perkins Loan Fact sheet and if you decide you want the Perkins Loan you will need to complete the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note.

If you were awarded a Health Professions Loan you need to review the Health Professions Loan Fact sheet and if you decide you want the Health Professions Loan you will need to complete the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note.

If you are interested in applying for the Subsidized, Unsubsidized and Grad Plus Loans you will need to complete Entrance Counseling, one time, for all three loans.

Your Financial Aid Award Letter reflects the Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans you are eligible to borrow for the 2011-2012 Academic Year.  You need to review the Direct Loan Fact Sheet before you apply for these two loans.  You will need to complete the Application Request and at the end of the Application Request you will need to complete the Master Promissory Note.  If you do not complete these steps the loans will not be processed by the Federal Government.

Federal Regulation prohibits the Financial Aid Office from pre-packaging the Grad Plus Loan.  If you are interested in applying for this loan please review the Grad Plus Loan Fact Sheet.  If you decide you want to borrow this loan you will need to complete the Application Request and at the end of the Application Request you will need to complete the Master Promissory Note.  If you do not complete these steps the loan will not be processed by the Federal Government.

In order to recieve your financial aid refund*, all financial aid recipients must complete the Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement on the MyUK website. You will recieve your UK Linkblue login ID from the College Registrar in a few weeks.

Financial aid is scheduled to post to Student Account Services during the first week of August.

*refund is equal to tuition and fees minus financial aid.
