Financial Aid Eligibility Policy

To be eligible to receive financial aid, students must:

1.  Be determined eligible by the federal government through the FAFSA
2.  Be admitted to the College
3.  Carry at least a half-time course load.
4.  Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
5.  Not have exceeded twelve (12) semesters or 6 years in the DMD program.

For the purpose of awarding financial aid, any student shall be considered to be making satisfactory academic progress unless suspended from the College.  Suspension shall result in immediate loss of eligibility.  To re-establish eligibility, a student, at his/her expense, must satisfactorily complete one semester of either the standard curriculum or a specialized curriculum approved by the Academic Performance Committee.  Notification by this Committee, in writing, to the Financial Aid Coordinator, of satisfactory achievement will restore eligibility for aid.  Financial Aid can be received for a total of twelve semesters.

A student may appeal a denial of financial aid for failure to maintain satisfactory progress by submitting the justification in writing to the Dean of the College.  The decision of the Dean is final.
