This five-year strategic plan will guide the College as it concludes the first half-century of service and begins its second. As the College begins this new chapter, this Plan reaffirms its commitment to providing a high-quality education for a diverse student body, developing new strategies to improve health, and facilitating partnerships within the University, community, and the profession. In this Plan, the College answers the challenge put forth by the University in its new five-year plan to “improve the conditions of Kentucky’s people and build a future that provides economic security and personal fulfillment.”
In developing this 2011-2014 Strategic Plan, the College community carefully considered the successes of our previous plan, while remaining mindful of those few areas where we failed to achieve our goals. In some cases, fiscal constraints limited success in key areas such as progress toward elevating faculty and staff salaries in comparison to benchmarks and the market. The new five-year plan is also tempered by the realities of the current fiscal climate. This Plan balances ambitious efforts to help move the College and University further toward national preeminence with creative strategies to foster growth and improvement in areas that are not entirely dependent upon accessing new resources.
