Voluntary Dental Service Activities
The UK College of Dentistry has several voluntary program activities and clinics staffed by dental students and faculty that serve the local community. These include:
• Saturday Morning Children's Dental Clinic
This free clinic at the College of Dentistry serves underprivileged children age 12 and younger in the Lexington/Fayette County area. In operation for more than 25 years, six clinics are traditionally offered each year. Conducted and staffed by dental students and faculty, it is organized by our chapter of the American Student Dental Association.
• Special Olympics
Faculty, staff and students have provided leadership and volunteer time to help add Special Athletes/Special Smiles as part of Kentucky Special Olympics. Dental screenings, health education and dental sealant services are provided on-site at the games using dental volunteers from across Kentucky (with Kentucky Dental Health Coalition).

• Hispanic Health Fair
Started in 2000, this annual spring fair held at the University of Kentucky is orchestrated and planned by first-year medical students of the UK College of Medicine. Through our chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association, student and faculty volunteers from the College of Dentistry provide dental screenings and health education during this daylong event.
