Fayette County School Health Program

The Pediatric Dentistry faculty and residents provide a full-time comprehensive oral health care service for high-risk children at the Lexington-Fayette County Family Care Center on Red Mile Place. Dental clinics are open five days per week at the Family Care Center. As part of this program, pediatric dentistry faculty and residents provide screenings and prevention and treatment services as part of new school health programs at 10 Lexington Schools: Arlington, Booker T. Washington, Cardinal Valley, Harrison, James Lane Allen, Johnson, Northern, Russell, Russell Cave and Tates Creek. The program is a joint effort of the Fayette Urban County Government, the County School System and the College of Dentistry. Dental clinics are open five days per week at the Family Care Center. Funding is provided by the county government. Clinical income is also used to support the program. Transportation is provided for these three programs by the Fayette County School System.
