Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice has specially trained surgeons who perform dentoalveolar surgery (implants, extractions, alveoplasty), trauma surgery, repair of craniofacial anomalies, surgical management of facial pain, treatment of temporomandibular disorders, and cosmetic treatments.

This one-of-a-kind clinic uses a multidisciplinary approach incorporating specialized dentists, surgeons, nutritionists, physical therapists, and psychologists to treat facial pain, neuropathic pain, burning mouth, bite disorders, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), and sleep apnea. The Orofacial Pain Clinic is the first in the US to be accredited by the Council on Dental Accreditation.

UKCD Orthodontics provides cutting-edge, comprehensive orthodontic therapy. Treatment includes age-appropriate interceptive therapy and corrective therapy for children, adolescents and adults, including interdisciplinary treatments in collaboration with all other dental specialties. Orthodontics faculty members are board certified clinicians and educators. Residents are directly supervised by faculty. Payment plans available.

The UKCD provides comprehensive dentistry for children newborn to age 18, including children with special healthcare needs. We have clinics offering after-school hours, and charges based on income for the uninsured. Most pediatric clinics accept Kentucky Medicaid.

The UKCD Periodontics clinics specialize in treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, periodontal graft surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, laser treatment, and replacing missing teeth with dental implants. UKCD faculty members have extensive experience treating medically compromised patients. Periodontics residents are supervised by faculty. Payment plans available.
