“Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.”
Dr. Jeffrey Okeson has planted many acorns during his 40 year teaching career at the UKCD, and on September 13, his accomplishments were recognized with the Acorn Award. This award from the Council on Post-Secondary Education was established in 1992 to recognize inspired teaching in any of Kentucky’s public or private colleges or universities. Its nominees represent the entire state, and each year one winner is chosen from a two-year college and one from a four-year college.
A recipient of many teaching and service awards at the University, as well as nationally and internationally, Dr. Okeson is widely published and recognized as a foremost expert in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. His textbooks have been published in multiple editions and 11 different languages.
The UKCD is proud of him as an alumnus, educator, clinician and leader, both here at the College and in the profession at large.
