Course Description – Let’s Get Three Dimensional – An Overview of Cone Beam Computed Tomography  (AM session)

CBCT is a new imaging modality that is rapidly gaining acceptance in the dental community.  As with any new technology, there are misconceptions about the utility of CBCT.  The purpose of this presentation is to describe the operation, indications, and limitations of CBCT.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe the common components and operations of CBCT
  • Discuss the indications for the use of CBCT
  • Evaluate the various options for CBCT and how this imaging modality fits in your practice

Course Description – Forensic Odontology:  The Ugly Side of CSI (PM session)

This lecture course will provide an overview of the tasks commonly performed by the forensic odontologist.  Data collection and comparison techniques needed to complete a dental identification as well as bit mark analysis and involvement in mass fatality incidents will be presented.
