Abstract

This Core will facilitate the measurements and characterization of vascular pathology and of plasma parameters that are critical to the interpretation of experimental studies. The quantification of these vascular pathologies requires trained personnel. Therefore, having experienced technical staff who provide accurate and reproducible analysis of tissues using a blinded study design will permit objective assessment for all studies. This centralization will be more efficient and enhance quality control. This Core will facilitate the following measurements:
(1) Quantification of AAAs
(2) Characterization of AAA composition
(3) Atherosclerosis lesion quantification and composition
(4) Plasma Measurements
