Outstanding Contributions to Cardiovascular Research
Nominations are being accepted for the 9th Annual Gill Heart Institute Award for Outstanding Contributions to Cardiovascular Research. The 2006 award will recognize individuals in the prime of their careers who have made outstanding contributions in electrophysiology. Contributions to training and service will also be considered. A nomination should contain a curriculum vitae and a brief statement that highlights the candidate’s major contributions. Please send nominations to: alan.daugherty@uky.edu
The successful nominee will be invited to attend
a presentation ceremony at the Cardiovascular Research Day of
the Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute at the University of
Kentucky on October 13, 2006. This individual will receive a
commemorative plaque and a cash prize of $20,000. The award
recipient will be announced in Circulation.
Deadline for submission is May 12, 2006.
Gill Heart Institute Young Physician Scientist Award
Young Physician Scientist Award in Cardiovascular ResearchNominations are invited for the 2006 Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute Young Physician Scientist Award. Applicants should possess an M.D. and have less than 10 years of experience in a research environment since receiving their doctoral degree. The nomination should contain a curriculum vitae, a preprint or recent publication, and a brief statement that highlights major research contributions. The applications will be judged by a panel of UK faculty associated with the Gill Heart Institute and will be based on the track record of the individual, and the originality and quality of the submitted manuscript.
