He has also been active in promoting the use of computer-based
instructional technologies, and continues to work with technology and other innovative strategies for distance education solutions. He currently
works with Drs. Skelton and Nash to deliver Web-based training for site visit consultants for the American Dental Association. Dr. Hardison has
also been active internationally as well. He helped develop a career-ladder training program for dental healthcare workers in the South Pacific
Islands. In February of 1994, the University of Kentucky signed an
agreement with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health to administer and direct a school-based oral health program in the Hawalli Region of Kuwait. This
five year, $10 million program used foreign nationals already in Kuwait to provide preventive and basic treatment services to the children in
the public elementary schools of this area. Dr. Hardison served as Principal Investigator for this effort. He directs the College’s
international outreach efforts- Oral Health Resources International. In 2000 – 2001, Dr. Hardison served as Project Director for the
Kentucky Children’s Oral Health Survey and currently serves as Assistant Administrator for Oral Health Surveillance to the Oral Health Program for the state of Kentucky.
