About:
After completing an MS in Biology with an emphasis in reproductive technology, Dr. Baker completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Wright State University, Dayton, OH. in 1991. She conducts research and publishes in the areas of reproduction and infertility. Prior to entering academia, she worked in the field of infertility. An active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, she serves as legislative monitor for the Society and as an inspector of infertility laboratories for CAP/ASRM. Dr. Baker is particularly interested in reproductive training and issues regarding regulation of fertility labs.

Book in progress: Microbiology for the Assisted Reproductive technology Laboratory
Part of the team that developed the first Reproductive Laboratory Sciences Graduate Program (in conjunction with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine).
Dr. Baker is particularly interested in
education in the field of assisted reproduction and was
responsible for the first curriculum-based education programs in
the U.S, beginning in 1998, at the University of Kentucky.

Dr.
Baker is also is interested in reproductive policy and issues
regarding regulation of fertility laboratories. She served as a
consultant to the CDC for Development of a Model Embryology
Laboratory. Dr. Baker has collaborative efforts ongoing with
industry and co-chairs the First Annual Xytex Symposium on Assisted
Reproduction.
Scholarly Interest:
Investigations in Reproductive microbiology with a concentration on sexually transmitted diseases. Funding received from the Medical Center Women’s Health grant. Collaborative efforts ongoing with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
