The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry holds an annual 1.5 day (overnight) retreat in May at one of the State Parks for all faculty, students, and postdoctoral scholars in the department. The students and postdocs present their research either in short talks or posters, and there is also plenty of free time in the schedule for leisurely activities that are available at the park. This retreat has always provided a great opportunity for department personnel to learn about the research and techniques of other labs, as well as to get to know one another better on a personal level. The group picture from our last retreat, held May 12-13 at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, is shown above.
2009's Retreat proved to be another great year for our students and postdocs to show off their work in the form of posters and talks shown to the rest of the department.
