Student Comments about Shadowing Experience:

"My personal reflection about my shadowing experience at ARH is that I learned a lot of things that I didn't know that happened in physical therapy.  It was so fun and interesting.  I was thinking about going into a medical field job and observing gave me something more to think about."

"I enjoyed my day of shadowing.  Everyone at the hospital was very nice and helpful.  The nurses showed me where to get dressed and where to go.  Inside the OR they made sure I had a clear view of the operation and told me what was going on.  If asked I would recommend shadowing at Hazard ARH."

"I have learned so much from these 10 hours I have observed here in the business office.  I can never explain how much I have learned and truly enjoyed observing here at the hospital.  Thanks for this once in a lifetime experience."

"While observing this week at the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department, I was exposed to many types of injuries, people and situations.   Often times toddlers thought they were only playing when they were actually exercised!  Many stroke patients, as well as patients with amputations, and patients confined to wheelchairs strengthened their limbs and minds through multiple experiences in this encouraging department.  I was also privileged to observe patients treatment while in their hospital rooms.  It was very interesting to see the responses!"
