Adult Health Education Programs


In order to help educate adults on good healthful habits,
the Southeast Health Education Training Center (HETC) offers health programs, planned and taught by experienced educators, to family resource centers, parent groups, civic groups, senior citizen centers, and adult day care facilities in southeastern Kentucky.  The programs are available at no cost.  Programs currently available are listed below, and programs on other topics may be developed by special request.  For more information or to schedule a program, contact the HETC office at  606-439-6794

    »  Aging / Adult Health Issues 

A variety of topics will be discussed during this program, such as Alzheimer's disease and dementia; menopause; mental health issues; sexual abuse; health care options.   

    »  Blended Families  

This program discusses how to deal with issues of divorce such as remarriage, step-children, grief, and loss.     

     »  Exercise / Conditioning for Seniors

This program discusses what exercise can do for seniors and gives examples of simple exercises that can be done at home. 

    »  Violence Prevention / Conflict Resolution

This program discusses anger management and conflict resolution in relationships with the immediate family, extended family, co-workers, and friends.
